Christian told me last week, that the Vagrant Records guys used to read my livejournal, back when TVT distroed them. he said they would e-mail clips around the tvt staff, etc. i kinda already knew this, because the one time i posted a Vagrant release schedule, I got my ass handed to me the next day. never really understood why they were so upset about that, considering all i was trying to do was help them sell records. i wonder if they still read this? i was small time back then, so not sure why my journal was so interesting to them. i am more small time now, then i was then, so cant imagine they still read it? they were a bunch of fake bastards anyway.. Well, just Dan Gill and Wayne Pigini(sp?), James Cho was cool though. James Cho left and formed Militia Group though. They had good bands(Dashboard, Alkaline, Get up Kids, etc), shitty people running the label.
I'm not f-locking this |

LJ News Special Edition: Server Move, Permanent Account Sale Update, A La Carte Userpics Welcome to a Very Special Edition of LJ News. Moving Day and What It Means for YouMoving What Where? The long-awaited server move takes place this Tuesday, November 18, at 8:00 a.m. PST. We're moving the site from servers based in San Francisco to the servers in our new data center in Montana. A massive data move like this takes a lot of heavy lifting, and to haul all that data from San Francisco to Montana, we have to take the site down, starting at 8:00 a.m. PST on Tuesday morning. We don't think the move will take more than four hours, but there's always the possibility that it could take longer (the best laid plans and all). What Does This Mean for You? During the downtime, nothing on LJ will be available—no posting, no Friends page, no LJ mail, nada. When we bring the site back up, we're going to ease into it rather than open up a floodgate of traffic. Posting might not be immediately available or the site could be slow to load for a while. New servers mean new IP addresses, so it's possible that LJ mail might not reach your email inbox because your email provider or client doesn't recognize the new IP addresses. We're working with email providers to whitelist the new IPs. There are a few things you can do on your end: - Add these two IP addresses to your "allowed senders" list (or whitelist) and address book in your email client: 208.93.0.18 and 208.93.0.50. These are the new IPs for sending comments notifications and LJ mail to your email inbox.
- Add lj_notify@livejournal.com and webmaster@livejournal.com to your email address book.
If you can't edit the spam or junk filters in your email client, you may need to disable them entirely. Make these changes just before 8:00 a.m. PST on Tuesday morning or shortly after the site comes back up to ensure that your LJ mail makes it to your inbox. Those of you who use domain aliasing to forward your domain to your LiveJournal will need to create a CNAME record that maps to livejournal.com. Please note that we're no longer supporting the A record. For more information, check the domain forwarding FAQ. Before the move, you can check lj_maintenance for complete details about the planned downtime. During the move, you can check status.livejournal.org for updates about the site's status. Permanent Account Sale DelayedWe regret to inform you that due to the server move, the Permanent Account sale has been pushed back to December 4, rather than November 20 as announced in the last news post. After the virtual dust has settled from the move, we'll be able to turn our attention to the Permanent Account sale. Except for the start date, the details remain the same: You have a limited opportunity to purchase LJ for life for only $175. It's a bummer to delay the sale, but on the bright side, you have more time to save up. But What About A La Carte Userpics? We know we promised more information about a la carte userpics, and we're sorry that details have not been forthcoming (blame it on the move). We're still planning on having a la carte userpics, but we don’t have any details yet. When the move is over, we'll have more information. We're sorry for the delay. |

We're moving Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 16:00-20:00 UTC We're pulling the plug! And putting it back in a different location! Ok, that was bad. Seriously though, our data center move -- from San Francisco to Montana -- is scheduled for THIS TUESDAY, November 18, 2008 at 16:00 UTC (this equates to 8AM Pacific timezone) and will last for 4 hours. Unfortunately it'll be total downtime for all our sites and services -- no posting, no reading, no email. Another news announcement will be posted on Monday November 17, including links to updated FAQs that you'll want to check out before the move. As always, status.livejournal.org will have any updates during the move so bookmark it and check it out for the latest news. All of us at LiveJournal have been eagerly looking forward to this move and I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we put the finishing touches on something that will allow us to bring you an even better product in the future. Though for us in the Ops and Engineering teams, we'll be REALLY happy if, on Tuesday, everything just works the same way it did on Monday. Heh.

i listened to the three A PErfect Circle cds I own today, and was surprised what i learned. according to my last.fm, account, i have not listened to APC since I created and started using the account in early 2007. also, i wish they would make more music. sometimes, i like the first album more then anything Tool did.
On Sunday night, I went to my first football game. At least I think it was my first one. Its possible my parents took me to a Bengals game when i was too young to remember? anyway, I went to see the Eagles play the Giants. It was my first football game, first time being inside that venue, and goes without saying first time seeing the Eagles or even the Giants. I really didnt care who won or lost. It was a fun enviorment to be in. I dont really care for football, but seeing the competitiveness between the teams, and even the fans of both teams, was pretty cool. A few things i didnt like was having standing room only tickets, meaning we had to stand the entire time. and the fact that it was like 30 or 40 degrees outside, meaning it was fucking cold. the first hour wasnt so bad, but as the night wore on, i could feel the temperature dropping. Thankfully, i learned they had hot chocolate at the concession stand.
i'm off tomorrow, downside is, i have to go to the dentist.
i have my first Sunday off in 5 months this weekend.

people were driving like assholes yesterday. constantly cutting me off, riding my ass, and stuff. thing is, i speed as it is.. i was doing 50 in a 40, and had a guy on my ass. then i was doing 80 in a 65, had a kid on my ass. when people ride my ass, i just slow down and make them pass me on the right, then i flip them off, or smile and wave to them..
today, they were just being dumb.
i still have several Pearl Jam cds to listen to. although i have come to appreciate songs like "Wishlist", "Given to Fly", and a few others I didnt used to pay as much attention to. some like "Even Flow", "Alive", and even "Jeremy", i could do without at this point. thats kinda the way i am, i tend to resent hearing the more "popular" songs, I guess because if you turn on the radio, those are the songs you are more likely to hear. and radio plays those three songs to death. I was hoping i could finish all PJ this week, so I can start listening to Piebald and Pink Floyd.
The last 2 days I have been grabbing cds from the R's and S's, to take on the road with me. yesterday I grabbed Queen's Greatest Hits 1 &2, a Rammstein album, Static-X's Wisconsin Death Trip, STP's Core, and like 2 others. Today I grabbed the Essential Stabbing Westward, Best of Billy Squier, The Scream's Let it Scream, STP's Thank You, Scorpions' Best of Rockers and Ballads, and Sex Pistols Nevermind the Bullocks. when listening to Sex Pistols, it reminded me that Skid Row covered "Holidays in the Sun", and now I Want to hear that too.

Find Your Friends Setting, Permanent Account Sale, Profile Page, Montana, Search Update, and More Find Your Friends, Now with Dialog BoxWe wanted to give you an update about the Find Your Friends feature we talked about recently in news and feedback. Based on your feedback, the opt-in implementation has an overwhelming mandate from the people. So that's the method we're going to use. Before we launch this feature, we need you to set your preference for the setting. The next time you visit the LiveJournal homepage, you'll see a dialog box that prompts you to set your preference for whether you want your email address to be searchable by the new Find Your Friends feature. If you have more than one account, the dialog box will appear the first time you visit each account's homepage. The Find Your Friends feature will be launching in the weeks to come. Permanent Account Sale Coming SoonIt's almost here—the Permanent Account sale! For a limited time only, you can purchase a Permanent Account for only $175. Your chance to get LiveJournal for life starts on November 20. Check out the benefits: - All the cool features offered to Paid Accounts
- The highest amount of storage available on LJ (currently 10GB, but we think there might be room to grow in there)
- No ads in your journal and, as long as you're logged in, you won't see ads anywhere on LiveJournal
- The most userpics available on LJ (currently 144 and increasing all the time with our Loyalty Userpics program)
- $25 of your purchase price donated to charity (look for details about the chosen organizations in the next news post)
- The peace of mind that comes with never having to make another payment
We've been talking about this sale for a while now, so hopefully you've had some time to save up for it. Remember, the Permanent Account sale is very temporary. We don't want anyone to miss out, so tell all your friends that the sale starts November 20 and ends November 26. After that you'll have to wait at least another year for your chance to buy a Permanent Account. When you purchase a Permanent Account, you can gift a friend with any balance of paid time or extra userpics you might have. Look for more details in the next news post, and keep an eye on the Gift Shop to buy your Permanent Account as soon as they go on sale! Profile Page Goes LiveThe redesigned Profile page is graduating from beta and going out into the wider world of LiveJournal. The design team put hundreds of hours into this redesign, with a marathon three rounds of beta testing. We considered every comment and critique that came through feedback and worked hard to incorporate as much user input as possible. We think the profile page is much improved and ready to go live. Thank you to all the beta testers for your hard work and feedback. We couldn't have done it without you (no, really). Montana-BoundBy the time you read the next release, a shinier, faster, better LJ will be up and running on the servers at our brand-new data center in Montana. The ops team is hard at work packing up bits and bytes here and unpacking them in Montana. The new servers and data center are an investment in LJ's future; they also offer more immediate benefits, such as room for more userpics, improved energy efficiency, and, of course, cool new servers. Check lj_maintenance for news and announcements concerning the move. If there's any downtime during the move, exact dates and times will be posted there. And you can always check status.livejournal.org, our offsite status page. Unpacking is the hardest part of moving. Watch This SpaceBack in our lj_2008 update, we mentioned that we were going to start increasing our local partnerships in India and elsewhere. Like india_sport, for example. Building on those experiences, we've been hard at work expanding our global footprint with a new partnership with one of the leading newspapers in the United Kingdom. So watch this space in the next release for an exciting announcement! Search UpdateSo, Find Your Friends is almost ready to go (you can choose your setting now, before the feature goes live, as noted above). But, as talked about in the lj_2008 update, our goals for improving search included two other projects. Where do they stand? - Search for public posts and comments: We're making great progress on developing a search engine for public posts and comments, which will include tags and interests.
- Journal search: We've been so hard at work on the other two search projects that Journal search for Paid users to search within their own journals isn't going to make it to the finish line in 2008. We're still working on it, although it has turned out to be a bit more complicated than we originally thought.
Word Counts and Daily PostsAs of last Saturday, furiously clattering keyboards can be heard echoing around the globe. NaNoWriMo is off to a roaring start—word count updates are flooding the NaNo servers, main characters are refusing to cooperate, and world coffee prices are skyrocketing due to demand. We had an overwhelming response to lj_nanowrimo (and the overflowing email inbox to prove it), and we're all (except for our accountant) really rooting for you to finish those novels. And for those of you who are busy crafting daily blog posts for NaBloPoMo, keep it up! We know you can do it. OpenID 2.0 Now SupportedIn the last release, we upgraded our OpenID client support to include OpenID 2.0. So if you're a user with an OpenID 2.0 account (like Yahoo, for example), you can use that ID to log in to LiveJournal. And MoreYou can find all the details of this week's release at lj_releases. |

writing about politics like i did in my last entry, is always tricky. if i show support for one candidate, then i piss off people who support the oppenent, and vice versa. I very seldom write about such things, because really I am no expert on these things. When I was growing up, I grew up in a very Republican family. Also, my family were entreprenuers, they owned their own businesses, and so on. and a good portion of people like that, will most likely support Republican views. not all, though. Since I have turned 18 in 1992, I have seen 4 presidential elections. in 1992 I think I voted for George Bush Sr, but Clinton won that one. Then in '96, I cant recall who ran as Republican? I want to say it was Dan Quayle? I didnt care for him, and I didnt like Clinton, so I might have written in Pete Rose for that one? or maybe I voted for Ross Perot? I cant really remember. Then 2000 rolled around, I voted for GW. As the years went on, I realized that was a mistake. in 2004, I didnt vote for anyone. I wasnt registered. And even if I did, I didnt like either candidate, Bush JR or John Kerry. John Kerry seem just as shady as any politician really.
I dont know what my point of this is? Just that since I wrote yesterday, I have seen some people remove me as a friend. You would think they would remove me after having to scroll through one boring music post after another, but no. And maybe it wasnt about my politics, maybe they were just tired of being bored by my writings? and really, I dont care. Just really observing it all. Friends have always come and gone. It's a nature of life. I appreciate friends when I have them. But mostly dont lose too much sleep when they go. I used to though. It used to torment me. but at some point i just realized its part of life. And I dont just mean losing lj friends, but friends in real life.
Since the 7th grade I have never really had a lot of friends, some years I went without any. Yes loneliness did haunt me, and I was depressed about it for most of my junior high school and high school years, and even after. I was actually on prozac for about 2 to 4 years, to combat my depression. My depression stemmed from many things though. From no friends to my parents divorce, and other dysfunctional family things. moved alot when i was a kid, and so on.
but you know, I didnt really find true happiness until I moved to Jersey. Found a job that I loved, felt like I belong somewhere finally, and eventually met Amanda. The job is gone, but Amanda is still here. Amanda makes me happy, Amanda gives me confidence, and love. Sometimes, I dont show her my appreciation, or tell her. Sometimes, I think she could do better. but I am glad she is here.
Well this post certainly split off in various directions didnt it? one minute I am talking about politics, and the next thing I am talking about not having any friends when i was a kid. oh well, at least its not another music post, or something trivial. This might be trivial to those who read it. but it makes sense to me.
Oh yeah, I also have two adorable cats. I heart them very much. being married, having two cats, a house, and a laptop makes me happy. music does too.. look over there, a bird!!

ok so i deviated from listening to all the pearl jam cds. i have about 9 left to listen to. but early on, i just kinda got tired of them, and started listening to other stuff.. i grabbed this misc stack that was on the other table, and started listening to that. stuff like Audioslave's Revelations, a Trivium album, a Buckethead, Iommi, and now listening to the first disc of Def LEppard's Anthology. i would have listened to Devo, Depeche Mode, and Jackyl, but apparrantly my computer does not like those, and spit them back out at me. I dont know why? because they are good cds in quality and in music. thats definitely something i dont get about my comp, is that it will occasionally spit some back out.. it does suck, because there is a number i just cant listen to. I have been off work today. had back to back days off, doesnt happen very often. i did what running around i needed to yesterday. and today i have not left the house. dont really have the money to really do anything anyhow. here are my most recent last.fm charts. stuff i listened to last week top ten artists to date and top tracks to date Current Music: Def Leppard- Rocket |

i dont know how i feel about the President Election? I think a lot of black people voted for Obama, because he is black. Not for his politics, but because he is black. i am taking this stance, from all the comments and messages i see trickling through the ying yang twins myspace.
Honestly, I didnt vote. I havent registered to vote since I have lived in Jersey. And I didnt like either choice, Obama or Mccain. I think people think Obama is going to ride in, and save us all. I am not so sure. And even if he does start putting things in motion. it's going to take awhile for the economy to turn around. It's going to take awhile to get the other countries back on our side. And I dont think he will pull the troops out of Iraq too soon. I hope he does eventually. That would help the economy alot. because we have spent so much money on the war effort. And now, what is the reason we are still there?
And Mccain, I'm sure many people thought like i did. He's a republican, he is probably just going to start where Bush left off. And this is coming from someone who is a republican.
And I hate to say this. But, I dont see Obama serving his entire term. I think someone will assassinate him. because there's still a portion of America who are deeply racist. the feds have already thwarted several assassination plots on Obama. I think there will be more.
these are just my thoughts. I do hope that Obama will follow through with his campaign promises. I hope he delivers the changes that we so desperately need. the economy is not good at all.. Coke is talking about laying people off. Amanda's job is talking about laying people off. its very scary right now.

i'm gonna start a fight i've been listening to Pearl Jam and assorted others today. i dont know how, but I have amassed 26 Pearl Jam cds over the years. Crazy thing is, I've never thought of myself as a huge Pearl Jam fan. I mean, as far as bands from Seattle go, I would take Nirvana and Alice in Chains over PJ. But, Pearl Jam have lasted longer, and put out more albums. I'm sure if Kurt Cobain hadnt offed himself, and Layne Staley hadnt OD'ed, maybe Nirvana and AIC would still be putting out albums. Well, AIC will have a new album out next year with the new guy. Come next week, I think Pearl Jam will be in my overall top 10 listened artists chart on last.fm. I've listened to 7 PJ cds and have 19 more to go, most of the 19 are double discs. After Pearl Jam, there's 2 Pennywise cds, 3 or 4 A Perfect Circle, a Joe Perry Project, Pete, and one Tom Petty cd. VS is my favorite Pearl Jam cd. it's just a solid record from start to finish. ( list of PJ Cds I own )By the way, I Sold out. I just uploaded the recent Pink album, and the last Britney Spears cd to my itunes. Current Music: Pink- Ave Mary A |
